Paul Hollywood’s White Cob Loaf

I succeeded in making bread! Huzzah!

I have to admit, I’m quite proud of myself for actually making a loaf of bread. And one of Paul Hollywood’s recipes too!  It was relatively simple, except for the fact that I’ve never made bread before.

I used my fancy mixer (which I got for Christmas last year) in order to knead it, which is probably a cop out, but I really wanted to see how it would go with the mixer. It went better than I anticipated it would. However, the only issue that I had was that I accidentally over proofed it ( I fell asleep, it’s a weekend, don’t judge me).

I suspected that it was over proofed when I cut the diamond slashes on top, but it wasn’t until the loaf was fully baked that I knew for sure.

On the top of the loaf you can see that it cracked and the inside just doesn’t look like a normal white bread. But it’s tasty and I’m still proud.

I’d like to make this recipe again soon so that I can try to perfect it, but I feel like it’s a step with my baking bucket list to have officially made a loaf of bread 🙂

Enjoy your day!
